Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations Declares 2024 Results: Girls Outshine Boys Again

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations recently announced the results for the first and second year exams held in March 2024. With a total of 9,81,003 students appearing for the Intermediate Public Examination, 6,09,693 students successfully passed, marking a 62.14% pass rate for both years combined. Notably, girls have once again outperformed boys, continuing the trend from the previous academic year.

In a detailed breakdown of the results, first-year students, encompassing both general and vocational streams, achieved a pass percentage of 60.01, while second-year students secured a pass rate of 64.19. The gender disparity in performance was evident, with girls surpassing boys in both categories, scoring 68.35% against 51.50% in the first year and 72.53% compared to 56.10% in the second year.

Comparing the 2024 results to the past five years, a slight decline was observed, reminiscent of the pre-COVID era. Notably, the pass rates for 2021, during the peak of the pandemic, stood at 100%. The results also highlighted subject-wise performance, with the MPC (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) group leading the charts with pass percentages of 68.52% and 73.85% for the first and second years, respectively.

Mr. Venkatesham, the Principal Secretary of Education, expressed satisfaction with the performance of students in government colleges. However, 170 students were found guilty of exam malpractice, leading to repercussions for eight second-year candidates. Students encountering issues with downloading their marks memos were advised to contact the TSBIE Help Desk for assistance.

District-wise, Rangareddy, Medchal, and Mulugu emerged as the top performers in the first-year regular category, while Narayanpet, Medak, and Adilabad excelled in vocational courses. Similarly, Mulugu, Medchal, and Rangareddy led the second-year regular results, with Narayanpet, Komaram Bheem, and Mulugu showcasing outstanding performances in vocational courses.

The results also shed light on the private candidates' performance, with Mulugu district securing the highest pass percentage in the second year. Conversely, Kamareddy district faced challenges, recording lower pass rates of 34.81% and 44.29% for the first and second years, respectively. The detailed results are available online for further scrutiny and analysis.

As the educational landscape continues to evolve, these results serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work of students amidst challenging circumstances. The achievements of these young minds not only reflect their academic prowess but also underscore the importance of perseverance and resilience in the pursuit of knowledge and excellence.
