Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations Declares 2024 Results: Girls Outshine Boys Once Again

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations recently announced the results for the first and second year exams held in March 2024. With a total of 9,81,003 students appearing for the Intermediate Public Examination, 6,09,693 students successfully passed, marking a 62.14% pass rate for both years. Notably, girls have outperformed boys yet again, continuing the trend from the previous academic year.

In a detailed breakdown of the results, first-year students, encompassing both general and vocational streams, achieved a combined pass percentage of 60.01%. For second-year students, the pass rate increased to 64.19%. The gender disparity in performance was evident, with girls surpassing boys in both the first year (68.35% vs. 51.50%) and the second year (72.53% vs. 56.10%) results.

Comparing the 2024 results to the past five years, a slight decline was observed, reminiscent of the pre-COVID era. The overall pass rates for the general stream in the first year were 61.08% in 2020 and 61.06% in 2024. Similarly, for the second year, the pass percentages were 69.64% in 2020 and 69.46% in 2024. Among the various groups, MPC (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) emerged as the top-performing group with pass rates of 68.52% and 73.85% for the first and second years, respectively.

Mr. Venkatesham, the Principal Secretary of Education, commended the students from government colleges for their commendable performance. However, 170 students were found guilty of exam malpractice, with eight second-year candidates facing consequences. Students encountering issues with downloading their marks memo were advised to reach out to the TSBIE Help Desk for assistance.

District-wise, Rangareddy, Medchal, and Mulugu secured the highest pass percentages for first-year regular students, while Narayanpet, Medak, and Adilabad excelled in vocational courses. In the second year, Mulugu, Medchal, and Rangareddy led the regular results, with Narayanpet, Komaram Bheem (Asifabad), and Mulugu dominating the vocational outcomes. Notably, Mulugu district showcased exceptional performance across both regular and private second-year results.

The Telangana Intermediate 2024 results highlight the dedication and hard work of students amidst challenging circumstances. As girls continue to outshine boys academically, these results serve as a testament to the perseverance and commitment of the young minds shaping the future of education in the state.
