Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations Declares 2024 Results: Girls Outshine Boys Again

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations recently announced the results for the first and second year exams held in March 2024. The outcome revealed that out of 9,81,003 students who appeared for the Intermediate Public Examination, 6,09,693 students successfully passed, marking a combined pass percentage of 62.14% for both years. Notably, girls once again outperformed boys, maintaining a trend seen in previous academic years.

In a ceremony held in Hyderabad, Principal Secretary (Education) Burra Venkatesham and Board of Intermediate Examinations Secretary, Shruti Ojha, unveiled the results. The detailed results are now available online for students to access. The first-year students, encompassing both general and vocational streams, achieved a pass percentage of 60.01, while the second-year students secured a pass percentage of 64.19. The gender-wise comparison showcased higher success rates for girls in both first (68.35% vs 51.50%) and second (72.53% vs 56.10%) year examinations.

Comparing the 2024 results with those of the past five years, a slight decrease was observed, reminiscent of the pre-COVID era. Notably, the pass rates for 2021, during the COVID year, stood at 100%. In the general stream, the pass percentages for the first year were 61.08% in 2020 and 61.06% in 2024, while for the second year, the figures were 69.64% and 69.46%, respectively. Among the different groups, MPC (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) emerged as the top-performing group with pass percentages of 68.52% and 73.85% for the first and second years, respectively.

Mr. Venkatesham expressed satisfaction with the performance of students from government sector colleges. However, a total of 170 students were found guilty of exam malpractice, with eight second-year candidates facing withheld results. Students encountering issues while downloading their marks memos can seek assistance from the TSBIE Help Desk at 040-24655027. District-wise, Rangareddy, Medchal, and Mulugu secured the highest pass percentages for first-year regular students, while Narayanpet, Medak, and Adilabad led in vocational courses. For second-year regular results, Mulugu, Medchal, and Rangareddy topped the list, with Narayanpet, Komaram Bheem (Asifabad), and Mulugu excelling in vocational results.

In the private category for second-year results, Mulugu district emerged as the frontrunner with an impressive 81.25% pass percentage. Conversely, Kamareddy district reported the lowest pass percentages, standing at 34.81% and 44.29% for the first and second years, respectively. The results highlight the dedication and hard work of students, especially the remarkable performance of female candidates across both years.

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examinations continues to witness a steady flow of talented individuals, shaping the future of the state's educational landscape. As students celebrate their achievements and prepare for future endeavors, the education sector looks forward to nurturing more bright minds in the years to come.
